An Op or Happy Helper is someone with a good knowledge of an ostomy and ostomy life who is willing to share this knowledge with others. There are Ops and Happy Helpers from several different time zones to enable the room to be open 24/7. We work as a team, so no one person needs to always be "on duty". We aim: To welcome people into the chatroom, make them feel "at home" if they are new and encourage discussions. To help people find the information to their questions. To link people up with other ostomates who may be able to help. We also keep this room safe and welcoming. This involves: Banning the odd person who comes in purely to make trouble (Trolls). Maintaining a family-minded channel atmosphere. Keeping the peace when members disagree with each other. From time to time it is necessary to ban members. This is most unpleasant and we do not enjoy this, nor do we undertake this lightly. Banning occurs when the chatroom rules are broken. This may be a one-off serious incident or it may be after several warnings have been issued. Wherever possible the person concerned is contacted and informed of the reasons for the ban. Bans are never given without good reason. |
Each Op and Happy Helper can be contacted by putting their name before @ostomysupport.info apart from Shaz who can be contacted at Shaz(please remove)@ostomates.org |
All Ops and Happy Helpers can add your photo to the Stats page. Email your picture to them, including a request that it goes on the stats page. |
